Privacy Policy — Snapshot
Last Updated: August 10, 2026
Snapshot respects user privacy and is designed to access webpage information only when necessary to provide screenshot functionality.
1. Information We Access
When a user initiates a screenshot, Snapshot may temporarily access the currently active webpage to capture the visible area, selected region, or full webpage.
2. Screenshot Data
Screenshots are generated only when initiated by the user. If your current implementation processes and stores screenshots entirely on the user's device, Snapshot does not upload captured screenshots to external servers.
3. Personal Information
Snapshot does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, payment information, or other personally identifiable information through its standard screenshot functionality.
4. Browsing History
Snapshot does not monitor, track, or sell users' browsing history. Access to webpages is limited to functionality required for user-initiated screenshot operations.
5. Local Storage
Snapshot may use Chrome's local storage functionality to store extension settings, preferences, and other information necessary for the extension to operate.
6. Data Sharing
Snapshot does not sell or rent user information to third parties. Captured webpage information is not used for advertising or unrelated user profiling.
7. Chrome Permissions
Snapshot may use permissions such as activeTab, scripting, storage, tabs, and downloads where required to provide screenshot capture, preview, clipboard, and download functionality.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to limit extension access to information required to provide Snapshot's functionality.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Snapshot's features, permissions, or data-handling practices change.
